Professional Background

Peter graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1993, where he was a Thomas More Scholar and an associate editor of the Gonzaga Law Review. Following graduation, Peter worked for two years as a law clerk for the Honorable Edward Warren of the Oregon Court of Appeals. He then joined the law firm of Kennedy, King, and Zimmer. While at that firm, Peter worked on a variety of cases, including complex environmental litigation, appeals, and family law.

Practice Emphasis

In 1998, Gary Zimmer asked Peter to join him in forming a new law firm, which is now known as Zimmer & Bunch, LLC. Peter’s practice is focused on matters involving family law, including divorce, legal separation, custody, parenting time, paternity, third party custody and visitation, the resolution of complex family law disputes, interstate family law disputes, and appeals.

Peter is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and has been selected as an Oregon Super Lawyer each year since 2006. Peter is a member of the Multnomah Bar Association, and is a frequent speaker on a wide variety of topics for continuing legal education seminars.

Personal

In addition to his work as a lawyer, Peter’s interests include music, running, reading, and gardening. Peter is a published songwriter. He has been a voting member of The Recording Academy (Grammys) since 1982. Peter remains active in the music industry, and has recorded and produced several local artists.
