Interstate Child Support
Oregon has adopted the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA). The UIFSA statutes provide authority under certain circumstances for an Oregon court to exercise jurisdiction (power) over a non-resident to establish a child support order, or to modify or enforce a child support order from another state.
We have experience in resolving interstate child support issues. If you are seeking to establish child support and the other parent lives out of state, or if you already have an out of state child support order and wish to modify or enforce it, we will work with you to assess whether UIFSA allows the courts of Oregon to address child support and, if so, we will work with you to obtain a fair result.
